This was an extraordinary year for the SG, witnessing the shipment of 12,914 units – a record-breaking feat in the period from 1961 to 1979. 1970 saw more SG guitars sold than any other single year, with the Standard leading the charge with 6,677 units, doubling the previous year's sales. The influence of legendary musicians like Clapton, who rocked his SG Standard, along with stellar performances by The Who and Santana at Woodstock the previous year undoubtedly played a role in the SG's meteoric rise. Own a piece of this historic wave, complete with original Patent T-Top pickups, pots, electronics, machine heads, trem, and bridge. Despite some standard play-wear, this SG stands strong in fantastic condition with no breaks, housed in its original case – a true gem for enthusiasts and players alike!
