Elliott’s Guitars is the result of a young man from the South Coast of New South Wales combining his two biggest passions – collecting memorabilia, and musical instruments. Spending years cutting his teeth on the front lines of the industry, Nick learnt how to manage all the crucial parts of a successful musical instrument business: from purchasing and selling, to evaluation and appraisals, to instore and digital marketing, and even repairs and servicing. It was in working so closely with the maintenance of the instruments that Nick developed his love for the craftsmanship that went into these classic designs, and the magic they produced, making them rock and roll essentials.
Growing up in the digital age in a small coastal town, Nick spent many a night researching and dreaming about seeing and playing “Holy Grail” vintage guitars coveted by musicians worldwide, and after making an international pilgrimage or two to vintage guitar stores a long way from home, he saw a gap in the market for a speciality shop of his own in his nearest city – Wollongong NSW.
Built on the principles of providing expert grade repair work, quality vintage instruments to places starved of them, and an inclusive “All players are equal” attitude, Nick set up shop and opened his doors to the community that he’d cultivated relationships with from behind the counter, and on the stages of local venues regularly gigging over the years.
With the gigging musician in mind, Elliott’s have expanded their range to stock quality instruments, amplifiers, and accessories at a range of accommodating price points to suit any budget - not just the collector! Nick has also become the local specialist in boutique effects pedals, taking on many brands from humble beginnings similar to his own. If it’s a part of your signal chain - chances are Nick knows about it!
With 4 years of booming business under the belt, Nick is settling into the business owner role comfortably, and can be found most days of the week happily serving his troupe of loyal regulars and welcoming any new faces with a smile and invitation to grab any guitar off the wall, and to sit down on the large leather settee in the middle of the shop and have a play!
